Beautifying Rochester One Billboard at a Time
Here is a little bit about the project:
In 2022 after driving on rt. 490 I noticed how the billboards were effecting my mood. Everything was gray, dismal and the messaging was far from uplifting. It was at that moment I thought it would be wonderful to put fine art up on billboards to cheer people up. So when I got home that afternoon I set out to work on what would later become “Billboard Art ROCs” Beautifying Rochester One Billboard at a Time! I ended up creating 3 billboards with my art on them that spring and summer. The response was wonderful. People were writing in sharing their stories of how they were having a bad day and then saw the billboards and felt uplifted.
Since then I have been trying to get “Billboard Art ROCs” Beautifying Rochester One Billboard at a Time! started. It is a labor of love to be sure. I am pleased to announce the first 4 billboards are up on Atlantic Ave. between Culver Rd. and Russell Street in the city.
This year for the 6th Annual "Have a Heart, Hidden Heart, Daily Painting for Charity we will be supporting this community effort in getting more art up on billboards and helping students of all ages get involved in making art and getting it displayed in their neighborhoods!

What is "Have a Heart, Hidden Heart, Daily Painting Challenge for Charity" all about?
Every February I challenge myself to paint everyday for the 28 Days of February to benefit a local charity! All the paintings created during this challenge then go up for sale during the first week of March. All the proceeds from the sale go to the selected charity.
Special Note: The fun of this challenge is to hide hearts in each and every painting for the joy of it and the joy that it spreads. Please share this information with your friends and encourage them to sign up for the email! The paintings will be offered to those on the email list first.
